Belle Plaine Library Expansion

The City of Belle Plaine is excited to share that the library is growing in 2025!
The total cost of the project is anticipated to be $1.5 million and will be partially funded by a nearly $750,000 matching Library Construction Improvement Grant from the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE). MDE makes state funding available to public libraries for renovations, new construction, and improvement projects that result in more accessible facilities.

“Receiving the grant helped launch a project that has been many years in the making,” noted City Administrator Dawn Meyer. “The city and our community partners have been listening closely to the community and carefully planning for the costs.”
