We are pleased to announce that 2 If By Sea Tactical has been named the winner of the 8th Annual Fast-Track Business Pitch Contest, held on October 10, 2024, at the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Communities “Link Event Center” in Prior Lake. The event, which continues to be a cornerstone for entrepreneurship in Scott County, provided a platform for local innovators to present their business ideas in front of a distinguished panel of judges.

The Fast-Track Business Pitch Contest, now in its 8th year, remains dedicated to supporting the growth of small startups and driving economic development within Scott County. By providing access to vital resources such as funding, mentorship, and industry connections, the program reduces barriers to entry for emerging businesses, helping them grow and scale in a competitive marketplace.

This year’s competition featured a diverse group of participants, all of whom demonstrated creativity, business acumen, and the potential for future success. 2 If By Sea Tactical stood out for their innovative approach and was selected based on the strength of their business concept, market potential, and the strategic plan they presented. The victory includes not only financial support but also continued guidance through mentorship opportunities to further develop their business.

Applications were submitted from first-stage businesses in Belle Plaine, Credit River, Elko New Market, Jordan, New Prague, Prior Lake and Shakopee. Three finalists were selected to pitch their ideas to our esteemed panel of judges.

Finalists included:
· Aerial Imaging Solutions, Belle Plaine. Mathew Lindroth established in the company in 2024. Aerial Imaging Solutions is the foremost provider of cutting-edge aerial imaging services, specializing in photogrammetry mapping, video inspections, and thermal imaging. Serving a wide range of industries, including construction, real estate, power, telecommunications, and solar energy, Aerial Imaging Solutions LLC harnesses the latest advancements in aerial imaging to empower clients to achieve their objectives more efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively. This solidifies Aerial Imaging Solutions LLC as the trusted partner in revolutionizing how industries oversee their projects.

· 2 If By Sea Tactical, New Prague. Founders: Taylor Wickman (CFO) and Austin Reville (CEO). ATR LLC, DBA If By Sea Tactical is a licensed Federal Firearms Dealer (FFL) based in New Prague, MN. They are planning to relocate their retail shop and expand their services by opening a state-of-the-art shooting range. This new facility will cater to recreational shooters, self-defense enthusiasts, hunters, and local law enforcement, providing a valuable resource to the surrounding community. With this expansion, ATR LLC aims to elevate their offerings, making their business a key destination for firearm training and safety in the region.

· SoRiver Minnesota Rentals, Elko New Market. Luke Marshall, formed SoRiver Rentals in 2023. They are a trusted local event equipment supplier serving festivals and events throughout the metro. The business provides a wide range of high-quality equipment, including pedestrian barricades, temporary fencing, portable light towers, two-way radios, and traffic control solutions. SoRiver Rentals prides itself on exceptional customer service, ensuring that every event runs smoothly and safely. With a focus on event success, reliable equipment, and affordable rental fees, SoRiver rentals is looking to expand their business footprint throughout Scott County.

In addition to the contest, the event hosted presentations from past winners, who returned to share their experiences and successes.

Speakers included:
· Mike and Lori McGuire, founders of Accelerated Care Solutions
· Corey Meyer, founder of Steelhead Outdoors; and
· Sri Prasana, founder of IWMS

These entrepreneurs shared insights into how the support of the Scott County CDA’s Center for Entrepreneurship was instrumental in the growth and success of their businesses. Their stories of resilience and innovation serve as an inspiration for this year’s participants and a reminder of the lasting impact that initiatives like the Fast-Track Business Pitch Contest can have.
